The Hits widens DAB coverage

The Hits Radio has been added to more local DAB multiplexes across Central and Northern England, extending its reach on DAB digital radio.

The Bauer Media owned station has been added to the DAB service in Birmingham, Central Lancashire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Humberside, Tyne & Wear, Leeds, Liverpool, South Yorkshire, Teesside and Manchester and will now set alongside local sister stations in many locations including Hallam (Sheffield), Key 103 (Manchester) and Metro Radio (Newcastle).

The station is reported to be operating in mono, using 80kbps bandwidth on the local DAB multiplexes.

The contemporary hits station, which remains available on Freeview channel 711, was until now only available on DAB in the Greater London region.
