Teletext branding retired on ITV/C4 Freeview

TEXT ON ITV
The Teletext brand has finally been withdrawn from the digital text services on ITV and Channel 4, almost three years after Teletext closed its news and information service down.

Digital text on these channels now identifies itself as "Text on ITV" and "Text on 4", with a generic identity.

Since the end of 2009, the digital text service on ITV1 and Channel 4 has consisted of commercial pages, including horse racing content on Channel 4 and premium rate services. The Teletext Holidays brand disappeared off Freeview a month ago, when on the 1st October, the service was replaced by Holidays TV. The Teletext Holidays brand continues online and on smart TV platforms.

The move follows changes to management within the remnants of the former Teletext service.
