BT adds 3 Discovery Channels

Another three channels are set to join BT's linear TV service. A deal with Discovery Communications will also add on-demand content from the broadcaster onto the BT Vision platform.

Discovery, Animal Planet and Discovery Real Time will join British Eurosport, UKTV channels such as Alibi, National Geographic and FX- soon to be rebranded Fox - in joining BT's linear service, which will stream TV channels via broadband to subscribers in addition to the Freeview channels delivered via the TV aerial.

A start date for the commencement of linear transmissions has not yet been announced; but is understood to be shortly.
