London gets DAB boost

The DAB digital radio signal in London was boosted today at a special event which saw Dame Kelly Holmes switch on new digital radio transmitters at BT Tower. Arqiva's Paul Eaton announced that the coverage boost of all 5 DAB multiplexes in London would benefit 9 million citizens.

At the event, GMG's CEO Stuart Taylor said that the boost was great news for digital radio and will make a huge difference to listeners and decision-makers.

  • Over the past 18 months, the BBC has been adding additional DAB transmitters in and around London, including at FM transmitter site Wrotham. Last month it launched its own DAB transmitter at BT Tower.
