There have been two additions to the Freeview/Digital Terrestrial TV line up today (one if you're in London).

BBC Red Button 302
  • Freeview channel 302 (BBC-A/PSB1 post digital switchover regions, Mux B pre- switchover regions)
Following two weeks of testing in the London region, the Olympic red button channel has appeared on channel 302 on the BBC-A (PSB1) post-switchover multiplex around the country; Multiplex 1 in pre-switchover regions. It will be active during this summer's Olympic games offering an additional selection of Olympic sports from 1900 to 0530 hours.

Anyone with Freeview doing a retune will get 302's placeholder and caption in their channel line up in plenty of time ahead of the Opening Ceremony in July.

The Space
  • Freeview HD channel 117 (HD mux BBC-B/PSB3, post-switchover regions and Pontop Pike transmitter, Mux B in pre-switchover regions)

Meanwhile, on Freeview HD, the collaboration between the BBC and The Arts Council called "The Space" is getting ready for its May launch. Using the broadband connectivity of Freeview HD equipment, it will offer content as part of the "cultural Olympiad".

Material on the service will be derived from more than 50 arts organisations, with footage from Shakespeare's The Globe and the John Peel Centre for the Creative Arts to be included in the service. The Space is being funded by a £3.5 million Arts Council England grant.
